Monkfish fans! Burns Night is literally within sniffing distance!  To help your celebrations go with a swing the lovely folk at Scottish Hampers have kindly dontated a hamper for one lucky Monkfish fan.

The ‘Port and Cheese’ hamper is packed to the ‘wicker basket brimful’ with the finest Scottish produce including a magnificent Strathdon blue cheese from Ross-shire which you can wash down with a tipple or two….or three…of port.  For every slice of cheese one requires an oatcake and for your delectation the hamper includes yummy Perthshire oatcakes, just the right amount of crunch in every bite. Wow, the best cheese course in Rome at Osteria della Frezza…..gob smackingly gorgeous….over 200 cheeses to choose from and a Cheese Master to look after them….mouth watering stuff….apart from cake myself and G do like to partake in a bit of cheese so there’s likely to be a few more cheese posts soon…in fact, we were at Ian Mellis the cheesemaker in Stockbridge yesterday having a wee taster and we purchased a couple of slices for tea tonight..yum
