CHEESE & BAXTERS CHUTNEY TASTING AT BAXTERS HQ!
One minute I’m in the gym leg pressing a 160kg (personal best!) the next I’m eating Baxters Chutney. Here’s how….
The phone rings…it’s one of those ‘shall I, shan’t I’ moments when you’re in the zone and work calls can wait or at least go to voicemail for half an hour.
However, Mrs Monkfish is, to quote Fireman Sam, ‘always on duty’ so what the heck, I answer. Is this is the call I’ve been waiting for? “hi Hilary, you’re invited to a cheese and chutney tasting over lunch but you need to be here in the next hour….oh, and it’s going to be filmed. Is that ok with you?” FINE!
Within 60 minutes I’m showered, changed and heading up to Baxters HQ, Charlotte Square, Edinburgh for a cheese and Baxters chutney tasting over lunch. So glad I picked up the phone 🙂 Continue reading
Monkfish fans! Burns Night is literally within sniffing distance! To help your celebrations go with a swing the lovely folk at Scottish Hampers have kindly dontated a hamper for one lucky Monkfish fan.
The ‘Port and Cheese’ hamper is packed to the ‘wicker basket brimful’ with the finest Scottish produce including a magnificent Strathdon blue cheese from Ross-shire which you can wash down with a tipple or two….or three…of port. Wow, the best cheese course in Rome at Osteria della Frezza…..gob smackingly gorgeous….over 200 cheeses to choose from and a Cheese Master to look after them….mouth watering stuff….apart from cake myself and G do like to partake in a bit of cheese so there’s likely to be a few more cheese posts soon…in fact, we were at Ian Mellis the cheesemaker in Stockbridge yesterday having a wee taster and we purchased a couple of slices for tea tonight..yum
